Our memories of you

Sandra, we all met you at Farlington where you were a bit of a wild child.  Full of energy and life you were always a pleasure to be with.  You and Katy went on many trips together from the south of France to Hong Kong and we would dread those midnight phone calls with the latest drama, from gas leaks to boys.  You came into your element in Barbados and my abiding memory is of long sessions in the bar at the Crane drinking rum punches, laughing and dancing to the bands.  You wore a flower in your hair and were always the most stunningly beautiful person there, even more recently.

You were such a talented artist, painting glorious nudes and abstracts, but you could also paint wonderful portraits including the superb one of your grandmother.  Your talent shone out and we are so proud to have several of your paintings which will keep you always in our thoughts.

You were so kind and generous in your love, always thinking of others, lighting up the room with your personality, and above all wanting everyone to have a good time.  Latterly you spent a lot of time with us oldies, sharing your exceptional knowledge of wine and food, and we tried to give you a good time, being the party animals that we are and led on by your mother!

You struggled so much for so long before anyone could even name what was wrong.  But you put such a brave face on things that no-one knew how much pain you were in.  You are released from that pain now, rest in peace dearest Sandra.  Your light will shine always, we will miss you hugely and hold you forever in our hearts.

Love always, Jackie and Ian xx
